ES 480 Act to End Racism | 26846 | IA,We are living in a challenging time: old forms of racism are appearing in new guises, while overt white supremacy is re-entering the public arena. Familiar forms of liberal multicultural activism have not transformed racialized systems of inequality. But this is also an era of inspirational activism, where mass movements are challenging the very logic of racialized violence, exclusion and marginalization, from Black Lives Matter to the Dream Defenders. We will explore together ways to learn from and act with these movements to transform our campus community. |
