Degree Requirements Changes and Policies

Students are required to complete all of Area A and Area B3 (Quantitative Reasoning) by the time they earn 60 units (junior standing) OR, for students who transfer to HSU with more than 30 units, before they complete 30 units at HSU. Advisors will NOT release registration access codes to students missing one or more subjects until you present him/her with a plan to complete the missing course(s) in the next semester.

Repeat Policy

Students may only repeat courses for a third or subsequent attempt with instructor, department, and college dean approval. This policy does NOT apply to courses that are repeatable. Grades of “W” do not count as an attempt.

General Education Area D and American Institutions-one “double-count” allowed

Students are now allowed to use one American Institutions course (U.S. History, or U.S. Constitution and State and Local Government) to count in lower division GE Area D. (This allowance does not apply to transfer students who have already been allowed to double-count one or more of their transfer Institutions courses in GE.) A few things to note are:
