Spring Term, 2014 Grades

Grades Due from Faculty: To the Office of the Registrar by 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014
Grading Process Completed: Friday, May 30, 2014 (estimated)

After the final grade submission date of May 21, 2014, it takes approximately six business days to “finalize” grades. This includes running such processes as repeats, presidential scholars, incompletes, and academic standing; many additional processes must run to make grades official. During this window, students may be able to see grades appear via Student Center as we begin the grade posting process, but grades are not considered official, official transcripts cannot be released, and degree awarding cannot begin until after the grading process has been finalized. Due to the campus closure on Memorial Day, the estimated finalized date for the Spring 2014 term is Friday, May 30, 2014.

Spring 2014 Degrees/Diplomas

Once grades have been finalized (estimated date: May 30, 2014) the process of clearing degrees can begin. It takes about 8-12 weeks to clear the approximately 2000 students eligible for graduation this term. Once the degree has posted, it will immediately appear on both official and unofficial transcripts while the diploma is processed. Diplomas are printed and mailed approximately three weeks after the degree is cleared/posted, beginning in late June and continuing through September.

Official transcripts are not released during the grade processing period; for Spring 2014, this period is May 22–30, 2014.

Register for the GWPE online!

Students can now register for the GWPE online! To complete this process:

  1. At www.humboldt.edu, click Log in to myHumboldt in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select the "Financial Matters" tab.
  3. Under the Financial Links section, click "Register/Pay for GWPE."
  4. Click "Make a Payment."
  5. Click "Graduate Writing Proficiency Exam Registration" and complete the transaction.

A few weeks before the students test date, they will receive an email from the HSU Testing Center providing their test location on the HSU campus, instructions for what to bring, and other relevant information.

Reminder

Update (12/7/11): Thank you, ITS team! The on-time PeopleSoft upgrade is complete and the system is again available as of December 7 at 8 a.m.  Student Center and Faculty Center are both available. Learn more about what this means for you in terms of software changes, training, job aids, and more by clicking on the Information Technology Services website at http://www.humboldt.edu/its/.

 

PeopleSoft HCM (Student Center and Faculty Center) will be unavailable from Thursday, December 1 at 5 p.m. through Wednesday, December 7 at 8 a.m. as ITS upgrades the software from version 8.9 to 9.0. Users attempting to login to the system during this time will receive the message “System is unavailable.”
