The Office of the Registrar can help you with all your transcript needs. Whether you’re applying for graduate school, earning a credential or transferring to another school, your official transcripts are the key.

How to Order Official Transcripts

1. Complete the Official Transcript Request Form

OR

NOTE: If you have any problems downloading the Transcript Request Form, please download this version or contact HSU.Transcripts@humboldt.edu to obtain a copy.

2. Pay for the Transcript(s) via the Following:

Pay with Check or Money Order by Mail, or

Pay in Person at the Student Financial Services Office, or

Pay Online with Credit Card or eCheck

  • Credit card payments can ONLY be made online. We cannot bill credit card numbers written on the Official Transcript Request Form or given over the phone.
  • Once an online payment has been made, you must still submit a transcript request form.

3. Submit the Transcript Request Form via:

How to Obtain Unofficial Transcripts

NOTE:  Please contact the Help Desk (707-826-HELP or help@humboldt.edu) if you need assistance with your HSU User Name or Password.

NOTE:  Unofficial transcripts can be mailed, faxed, emailed, or picked up by the student. A valid photo ID is required when picking up transcripts.

Official Transcript Requests and Fees

Incomplete requests will delay processing and may result in your request being returned. Please ensure that you have included all of the required information on the Official Transcript Request form and that you have enclosed adequate payment for the service(s) you are requesting. If you receive a call from our office regarding a problem with your transcript request, calling the Transcript Office at 707-826-6242 when the problem has been corrected will expedite the process.

Fee Structure

The following fee structure applies to transcript(s) ordered at the same time.

1st Copy $4.00
2nd - 10th copies an additional $2.00 each
11 copies or more an additional $1.00 each
Optional Additional Services
Expedited "RUSH" Handling* + $10.00

* Transcripts ordered with the extra $10 Rush Handling fee will leave our office within three business days.

Overnight Mailing** + $10.00 for Expedited "RUSH" Handling*
  + $10.00 per delivery address
** Overnight Mailing is only available with expedited handling. Transcripts ordered with the extra $10 Rush Handling fee and the $10 overnight fee will leave our office within three business days via UPS overnight ground delivery. Addresses must be to the 48 contiguous states (No Alaska, Hawaii or overseas). A destination phone number MUST be provided along with a street address — we are unable to overnight to a PO Box.
Please note:  The Office of the Registrar is unable to offer notarization services.

Processing Time

Transcript requests are routinely processed and mailed out 7 to 15 business days after arriving in our office. Expedited (RUSH) handling requests will be processed and mailed out within 3 business days after arriving in our office. Transcripts are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that due to high volume of requests received at the beginning and end of each semester, transcript processing time varies. Time-sensitive orders should include the expedited processing option to ensure that the recipient receives your transcript(s) prior to any application deadlines or opportunities.

What makes an official transcript OFFICIAL

For a transcript to be considered official, it must:

Unofficial transcripts are simply copied onto regular white paper and do not carry any type of official markings.

Holds on your records

Your request will not be processed if you have any outstanding financial or administrative obligations to the university. These must be cleared before your records can be released.

All transcripts on the form will be sent out at the same time

There is an option on the form to have transcripts held and sent at a later date (after grades, after degree posts, etc.). If you desire to have a transcript sent now and another copy sent at a later date, you MUST make two separate requests.
