Where we are located

Located in Arcata, 270 miles north of San Francisco and 95 miles south of the Oregon border, on 144 acres of land, it is nestled in a spectacular setting of redwood forests, rushing rivers, solitary ocean beaches and mountain ranges.

Average temperature and rainfall

Temperatures average 63 degrees during the summer and 57 degrees year round. Overall, Humboldt County receives an average of 37.5 inches of rain per year.

Academics

There are many study options available to Humboldt students. With 45 baccalaureate degrees, 73 minors, 12 graduate programs, 17 credential programs, and 16 certificates of study.

Facilities - 144 acres main campus
- Plus an additional 5091 acres which HSU owns, leases or has use agreements to (marine lab, observatory, natural history museum, salt water marsh, freshwater marsh, small lakes and ponds, forest lands, sand dune preserve, research vessel, First Street Gallery, Wildlife Care Facility and the 4500 acre Galbreath Wildlands Center).
