E-mail Report Viewing/Printing Issues
Most Banner reports are delivered by e-mail. It is important to
understand some significant differences in the way various e-mail
programs display and print messages.
If you are using elm on laurel, you are in the best situation since
all report formatting is preserved for printing. Read the following
if you are using any PC or Macintosh software such as Eudora.
Page Formatting
All page formatting is lost when messages are transmitted to your PC.
The form-feed codes used to paginate a report will not work, so report
headers will appear at different locations on the pages.
Any printer-specific formatting for landscape orientation or the
selection of different font sizes will also be lost.
There are only a few reports of this type which will ONLY print
correctly from elm.
Font Selection
Generally, most PC e-mail software uses proportionately spaced fonts
such as Times Roman or Arial. Banner reports are formatted with the
assumption that a fixed-spaced font (such as Courier) will be used.
You may need to change your default display and print fonts in Eudora
or other email software so that the reports approximate their intended
appearance. A 9-point Courier font setting will work in most situations.
