SW 442 Relational Wellness22421This class builds on concepts of relational wellness as it relates to the individual and community contexts. We will explore topics in mental health and self care, and practice interactive techniques to enhance personal and professional dynamics.
SW 442 Self-Care & Trauma-Informed SW22425The National Center for Trauma-Informed Care has identified six core principles of what it means to be trauma informed: (1) safety; (2) trustworthiness and transparency; (3) peer support; (4) collaboration and mutuality; (5) empowerment, voice, and choice; and (6) being responsive to cultural, historical, and gender issues. In an effort to reduce both client re-traumatization and worker secondary stress, this class will explore how these principles can be used to provide trauma informed social work practice while also realistically incorporate self-care into your life.
