RS 393 Death, Dying, & the Afterlife23770IA,Special Topic Description: Attending to sacred scripture, rituals of burial and mourning, and poetry from around the world, this course will consider a variety of human responses to and engagements with death and dying. This course will ask: how does an individual or community's understanding of death help to shape their experience of life?
RS 395 Senior Seminar21637IA,Power of the Sacred: Learn how to build the world using sacred expenditure, place, and memory. Readings include Mauss, Arendt, Halbwachs, and Benjamin, with an "applied" fieldwork component. Non-majors are welcome.
